I received another version of the teaser email from RealNetworks CEO, Rob Glazer. This one was directed towards current and past Rhapsody subscribers, and includes a little more info regarding the “announcement”:
I also want to share some exciting news with you. On April 26, we are taking Rhapsody and digital music to the next level.Subscribers are given the chance to see a free concert:
To celebrate, we’re holding a free concert that evening at 8 p.m. (ET) at the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City, featuring multi-platinum artist (and perennial Rhapsody favorite) Good Charlotte. [We] have a very special treat for 500 of our New York area Rhapsody subscribers: tickets to the actual concert at the legendary Radio City Music Hall.Interesting. I have a hunch Real will unveil a portable version of Rhapsody to compete directly with Napster To Go and other portable music subscription services. Billboard PostPlay seems to agree that a “Rhapod” is possible. Check here for press release details. Or try here for more RealNetworks juice. ]]>
