Instruments and Gear Used in Spinning Daydream

Thanks so much for all the feedback I’ve received, everyone!  Most of it came through email, some of it was through the HomeRecording.com mp3 mixing clinic, and some came through the comments in the post with the song.  It’s all much appreciated.  I’m going to try to consolidate it and post it this weekend, if I can.  For now, I wanted to answer one of the more common questions I got, from musicians, anyway:  "What gear did you use?"

Well, here’s a list:

  • Sonar 3 (for recording, mixing, and mastering)
  • Reason 2.5 (for the cello, flute, and organ)
  • MXL v67G microphone (for voice and acoustic guitar)
  • M-Audio Delta 1010LT soundcard
  • M-Audio DMP3 preamp
  • M-Audio BX5a Monitors
  • Sennheiser HD280 headphones
  • Yamaha acoustic guitar
  • Yamaha DGX-202 keyboard (used as controller for Reason)
  • Epiphone Les Paul electric guitar (plugged directly into soundcard)
  • Fender Precision Bass, Mexican (plugged directly into soundcard)
I also have an SM57 mic, and a little Fender Champ 25 amp, but didn’t use either.  …Fun stuff.  Thanks for listening!!
