Tron 2.0 totally rocks. I’ve always been a fan of the movie, in a geeky sort of way, and had seen the PC game when it came out in 2003. This Christmas, I snagged a copy, thanks to my bro-in-law. Oh baby…light cycles, disc hurling, pulsating neon lighting…who needs Halo? I logged 8 hours of game time in two sittings…now I remember why I try to stay away from PC games.
As we continue to dream of an eventual re-make of the 1982 classic (you’re all with me, right? Right??), here are a few related amusements to keep us occupied in the mean time:
- Tron 2.0: The 1st-person shooter-quest pictured right, that rocks. $10 on Amazon, baby.
- BM Tron: A 2-dimentional, simple light cycle race. (Closely resembles Snafu, for all you Intelivision gamers.)
- Discs of Tron: An arcade game from the 80s where you hurl discs at a guy across the room, who’s simultaneously hurling them at you. I used to love this game, and may even hunt one down when my mid life crisis hits.
- Tron: Another arcade game…but a weak one, involving a combination of light cycles, disc throwing, MCP-demolition. Cheesy graphics, meager game play.
- GL Tron: A 3-dimensional light cycle race. This actually looks really cool. I haven’t tried it yet.
- Tron Guy: Wow. This is wierd enough to make me stop writing this post.
Back to music.
