Google Talk Music Broadcast "Hack"

Google Talk, Google’s IM (instant messaging) and VOIP (voice over internet protocol) application, launched yesterday. Very cool. (an aside, it’s one step closer to Om Malik’s vision of a GoogleNet, a global internet provider that could supplant all telecoms…spooky) The launch was followed by TWiT’s (This Week in Tech) simple audio broadcast hack for music, podcasts, whatever, letting you share your audio with friends through Google Talk. The hack is mostly just a traffic-generating gimmick for TWiT, since the tweak can already be applied to existing VOIP applications. That said, who cares; it’s still fun to play with. My own version of the above entails holding a boombox up to a phone receiver… Would the RIAA approve..? 🙂 ]]>
