Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google are facing serious rivalry in the realm of "ultimate cool entrepreneur dudes". Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis are simply on fire, volcanically speaking.
First they launched Kazaa, a de-centralized file sharing service that freaked out record labels, and sold it to Sharman Networks before things got "uncomfortable" (i.e. HUGE lawsuits hitting the fan). Then, they took the same file-sharing, computer-networking technology and created the free internet telephony service, Skype, freaked out the telecommunication industry, and sold it to eBay for $2.6 billion.
Now, again using the same file-sharing, computer-networking technology, the dynamic duo launched Joost, a TV-like application that allows viewers to watch television programming via the internet. Television networks will get their chance to freak out…the slogan on their "About" page reads: "Goodbye Television, Hello Joost."
